Background Information: I am a married mother of two: Samuel who is three and Hannah who is nearly one. I am a Registered Childminder providing quality childcare within my own home in Papworth Everard.

Having ten years experience as a Primary School teacher, I am also able to help prepare your child for school, offer homework support and/or tutorial sessions and SATs preparation.

I am registered to care for four children under the age of eight as well as children over eight years of age. It is my aim to ensure that each child has individual care, attention, reassurance and guidance in order to realise their full potential.

Local School/Pre-school: Pendragon Primary School and Pre-school; drop offs and pick ups from elsewhere can be arranged for a nominal fee.

Contact: Please telephone 01480 831522 to make an appointment to view my setting and discuss your requirements.

Day to day: I provide a book for parents, which will detail our activities, meals and nap times. You are invited to write any comments or concerns at anytime. This will remain your property and is interesting and amusing to look back at when they are older. I also compile a Scrap Book of your child's time with me, including artwork, photographs etc.

We have School Runs, Meal Times and a couple of activities as well as free time play and trips to our local shops, library or park. If we have an excursion, you will be asked for your permission and perhaps a contribution to the cost.

Activities: As well as ‘one off’ activities, I also run a theme for approximately 2 –4 weeks. A topic might be, for example; “The Jungle” so we might make a collage, read stories about the jungle and act them out with puppets. Every child will have the opportunity to take part according to their own stage of development. Copies of my planning are available for you to see at any time.

Experience and Qualifications: I am an OFSTED registered childminder and a member of the National Child Minding Association (NCMA). I am fully insured and First Aid Trained. I am a Warranted Guide leader and have also worked with Brownies, Beavers and Venture Scouts. I am also a qualified Primary School teacher with ten years experience, including roles as Head of Infants and Deputy Head.

My qualifications include BSc (Hons) Human Psychology, Post Graduate Certificate in Education and CACHE Introduction to Childminding Practice.

Terms of Business

As a Registered Childminder I have legal obligations to maintain standards, accounts and sufficient training. I am regularly inspected by OFSTED to ensure that these standards are maintained.

Non-Payment/Holidays: Non-payment is acceptable only when I am ill and therefore unavailable. Childcare during school holidays is available.

Payment: This is due in advance, either weekly or monthly by arrangement. Payment can be Cash or Cheque.

Meals: A range of meals, including organic homemade baby food is available. Dietary/cultural preferences will be respected.

Discipline: I work by my own Behaviour Policy, a copy of which is available for you to keep.

Information: If anything occurs that may affect your child’s behaviour, learning, appetite, health or self esteem it is in their best interests that you keep me informed.

Sickness: My home is like any other childcare environment in that I am unfortunately unable to accept children who are ill, particularly those with contagious illnesses e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea, ear infections and head lice. If your child becomes ill you will be telephoned and asked to make arrangements to collect your child.

Medication: A permission slip for the administration of any medication must be signed prior to drop off. It is important that the medication is always handed directly to me.
